Kendrick Lamar and SZA are undeniably at the top of their games right now, and their new video for “All the Stars,” a song from Marvel’s highly anticipated movie Black Panther, finds them looking more regal than ever. (Lamar coproduced the film’s soundtrack along with Anthony Tiffith, founder of Top Dawg Entertainment, both artists’ label.) The video starts off with Lamar perched on a boat in a sea of people with their arms waving, while SZA, on the other hand, dances in a constellation of stars shaped like Africa.
Such fantastical surroundings call for equally bold looks. Lamar is quite sharp in a red suit with a tropical-print shirt peeking out from underneath, followed by a scene in which he wears a chic black shearling jacket while he’s trailed by a pack of actual black panthers. SZA also makes her way through a wide variety of dramatic ensembles: She starts off dancing in a pair of red trousers and a taffeta bustier by Christopher John Rogers, and eventually ends up in an Yves Klein blue bodysuit made from barely enough fabric to hold itself together.
